Technologies for a Circular Economy
After the economic downturn due to the pandemic, in CAMSAMERICA we believe that in the coming years economic growth can be driven by the circular economy. Effectively implementing a circular economy means not only extending the life cycle of products but also reducing waste to a minimum by exploiting what already exists to create something new.
Why is the transition to a circular economy necessary?
In today’s situation we are facing an increase in the demand for raw materials combined with a scarcity of them. Moreover, the availability of non-renewable raw materials is increasingly limited. For this reason, the transition to a circular economy is not only necessary but also imperative. Rethinking business models and adopting a more rational use of energy and resources must become a common goal.
Recently, the EPA published the National Recycling Strategy. The Strategy is organized by five strategic objectives to create a more resilient and cost-effective national recycling system:
- Improve Markets for Recycling Commodities.
- Increase Collection and Improve Materials Management Infrastructure.
- Reduce Contamination in the Recycled Materials Stream.
- Enhance Policies to Support Recycling.
- Standardize Measurement and Increase Data Collection.
CAMSAMERICA’s technologies for a Circular Economy
Within a circular economy, once a product has reached its end-of-life, the resources of which it is composed are reintroduced into the business cycle. Think for example of aggregates, asphalt, rubble and other materials that thanks to our solutions can be recycled through a technology that can significantly reduce noise and dust emissions generated by mills during processing.
All of our shredding and screening plants are designed to operate with hybrid (diesel/electric) or fully electric power. Adopting an approach that can overcome the old production model based on extract-produce-use-dispose phases, by using CAMSAMERICA’s technologies you can access recycled materials with significantly lower costs by exploiting the renewable sources. With our technologies we aim to enhance the resources already present in the urban environment; we can in fact recycle 100% of the demolished road pavement. The enhancement and reuse of this material brings enormous benefits for both operators in the sector and public administrations and contributes to the realization of the objectives of sustainability and circular economy.
