At CAMSAMERICA, sustainability and social responsibility are fundamental elements for our vision and business. Since the beginning of our business, 60 years ago in the heart of the Italian Motor Valley, we have place these two as pillars of our list of goals.
In particular, environmental impact, safety and social engagement are the main areas of focus of our strategy, aimed at reducing CO2 emissions and environmental impact, as well as protecting health, the rights and gender equality of people building and using our machines.
This commitment to sustainability and social responsibility has led us to define our goals to be achieved by 2030:
- Waste management: we have a responsible approach to waste management. In particular, we pay great attention to separate collection of waste, carefully selecting operations byproducts aiming to minimize the landfill intensity of our business. We have set the ambitious target of 0% landfill intensity by 2030.
- Product sustainability: we are committed to making our technology more sustainable and environmentally friendly. By 2030, 100% of the new generation of our machines will be more sustainable than older models. To achieve this, we are developing state-of-the-art technologies that allow to operate with zero CO2 emission thanks to fully-electric mode. In addition, our shredding technology is designed to reduce wear as well as minimize dust and noise pollution, thus promoting a healthier and safer working environment. Finally, we opted for the use of biodegradable lubricants with minimal environmental impact.
- Emissions: we are committed to reducing CO2 emissions of our operations by reducing the environmental impact thus pushing towards a renewable energy transition. In particular, by 2030 at least 50% of the energy needed for our operations will be produced by renewable sources.
- Social responsibility: at CAMSAMERICA we are actively engaged in ensuring gender equality. To witness this, 33% of our officers and managers are women. Our goal is to increase this share to 50% by 2030. We are also committed to working in full respect of employees’ rights and to ensuring a safe and healthy working environment, with the aim of eliminating workplace accidents.
